Every photographer has their distinctive style that is evident in the Portfolio of their work. Before choosing an artist, think about the type of photography style you like and then search for the photographers whose work is in line with the style you prefer.
Traditional
Traditional photographers generally treat every photo as a pose-based portrait, including those that you consider candid. It doesn’t mean that photos aren’t posed or forced; however, there’s a chance that there’ll be some spontaneous “action shots” included in the mix. Wedding photographers traditionally aim to capture the perfect moment with dignity and style and usually produce great photographs, even if they are formulaic for the wedding celebration as well as families and occasions.
Classical
The photographers are skilled in creating expertly constructed photographs that are well-lit and composed. They strive to maintain an unassuming presence at the reception so as to present classic, perfect pictures. There’s no way to see them socializing or telling people that they should “look at the camera” to create magical moments.
Reportage or photojournalism
A wedding photographer who takes the photojournalist route thinks that it is the photographer’s responsibility to capture the events, not stage them. The photographer will capture the photos you desire of your group but also capture candid and spontaneous shots. There are some official “grip and grin” roundups of guests posing to the camera. However this photographer prefers to capture images of close-ups, spontaneous reactions to events, and sensitivity images of a wedding triggered by the circumstances and the feelings that surround them, not photos of posed scenes created through the photographers.
Commercial
They can capture perfect pictures of the centerpieces, cakes as well as flowers and decorations and may be hired to capture these images, and then augmented by a different photographer who will take “people pictures.” A commercial photographer’s fashion may be more formal and less improvisational than the journalistic photographer. Similar to a journalistic photographer, the photographer of this kind is a professional who is capable of taking magazines-quality photos.
Photographic Artist
As with a photojournalist, photographers rarely take conventional photos but rather create artistic ways of capturing things, people, or occasions. Photographers are skilled with the medium of black and white as well as creating beautiful photos that are which are less candid and more filled with dramatic and artistic beauty.
