The day was beautiful at Flowerdale Estate, Strath Creek. We enjoyed being Carla and Joe’s wedding photographers at Flowerdale Estate.
We were fortunate to have some sunshine after all the rain that we had in the previous weeks. The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony. It was still too cold to have an outdoor function at night. Flowerdale Estate has the ideal location for a dancefloor beneath the stars. These fairy lights are amazing.
Flowerdale Estate is located in Central Victoria, between the Yarra Valley and the Macedon ranges. The drive was only an hour from Melbourne. This historic venue, founded in 1893, is a photographer’s dream. There are many places to photograph. Here, we had the privilege of photographing Carla and Joe’s wedding. Special!
Photographing a Country Wedding near Melbourne
Carla and Joe had planned their wedding for many years and were lucky to get married before the Victorian lockdown, which restricted weddings to five people. This was the last wedding that we photographed before the country was brought to a standstill. Flowerdale Estate had no problem accommodating the marriage. The wedding had just over 100 guests.
Flowerdale Estate – A wedding photographer’s dream.
Carla and Joe were both prepared at Flowerdale Estate. The beautiful rooms were the perfect setting for the couple to get ready. You can take many photos in the gardens that surround the accommodation. There are plenty of spaces to ensure privacy, and there is no chance of the bride or groom meeting before the ceremony.
The groom is allowed to drink a glass of whisky before the wedding. The best man and the groom are playing pool in the poolroom while enjoying a drink. Conversely, the beautiful bride enjoyed champagne with her family and maid-of-honor as she got ready.
The sizeable bridal room, for example, featured a four-poster bed and a piano. It was a beautiful place to photograph.
A unique wedding venue – Flowerdale Estate
This venue is unique. The grounds are set in beautiful gardens and bushland. You can explore them. We went up to the top of the road and got a stunning view. Unfortunately, you can’t hear the car in the pictures.
Second, Flowerdale Estate has a variety of photo locations. The grounds have picturesque gardens and old stables with an old Furphy wagon. We ventured down to the fields and haybales for our wedding photoshoot. It was only a short walk but enough time to forget about the wedding party.
This venue has a unique feature that keeps your guests entertained while you have your wedding photos on the grounds. You can be completely separate from your guests and relax.
Flowerdale Estate hosts an outdoor wedding ceremony.
Flowerdale Estate has several locations for wedding ceremonies, including the lakeside or gardens. Family photos and group shots can be taken under the giant oak tree, which has old stone steps. This is close enough to the ceremony to avoid long walks. The arbor was decorated in stunning floral arrangements to frame the couple at the ceremony.
This is a beautiful garden setting for a wedding. Flowerdale Estate is a versatile venue that can accommodate smaller and larger weddings without being cramped. It’s perfect for a garden wedding. The couple put in a lot of effort to plan all the little details. It was a beautiful setup.
Wedding party fun
The glass pavilion was the venue for the wedding reception. It’s a great location. In summer, it is an outdoor Pavillion. But we were able to enjoy it inside. The unique architectural design makes each wedding special. The couple cut a ribbon to make their entrance and then immediately moved on to the incredible cake. Then we enjoyed some delicious food. The perfect wedding party. The ideal wedding party included Cuban cigars, surprise wedding music, and romantic moments in fairy lights.
Flowerdale Estate is the perfect place to host a Victorian-style country wedding. This wedding was a lot of fun to photograph.
