We started out as online friends and hoped to take it slow, but it became apparent that we were destined to be more than just that. We realized that our lives were entwined by luck and decided that a change of speed was exactly what we required. We soon reached the point where we were able to fully express ourselves and realized that we have a good balance in the best ways.
The first spark that we felt was undeniable was transformed into a unique and lasting bond that only lifetime partners enjoy. We’re extremely grateful that we met our common ground and hope to share our lives together in the future. You can learn more about our story through your own words at our blog.
Was your most memorable time during the entire day?
I’m unable to decide between our first appearance or the reception’s private reveal. However, the sight of Mo right getting ready in the hotel, looking gorgeous and fresh, was a great way to trigger a variety of emotions within me. It was that moment when I realized that he’s my husband right now and can live the remaining years time with my dearest friend. It was intimate and glamorous. It was unforgettable.
Favourite wedding detail?
The magnificent reception hall with dimmed lights and candles all over the head table and the backdrop. My favorite part of the event is all of the cosmic details on the invitations, tables and seating charts as well as our table.
What do guests will remember the most?
They’ll remember the glittering reception drinks, a memorable grand entrance, an amazing blend of our diverse cultures and a great musical and taste!
How did you display your personality in your wedding?
There were many aspects that reflected our personalities. There was a large portion of my planning, vision, and organization in the hall, the flowers and the seating charts etc. Also, a lot of amusing details were Mo’s contribution to the music, drinks and dancing moves! We also played a game of shoe with our guests at the beginning of the meal. This was a fantastic opportunity to share parts of us with our guests, particularly guests who came from outside and who may not be familiar with as well.
What cultural elements included in your report, if any?
We invited performers to present a complete display of Palestinian and Sudanese culture. I was skeptical about it initially, but it turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever taken as it really created a memorable wedding.
What advice do you have for couples who are trying to plan their wedding?
Start early, create an idea of what you want to accomplish, and then be patient. Make sure your partner is with you and wants to help you be successful. If you can, be flexible and give solutions instead of causing issues when things happen suddenly. It’s not always ideal, but the most valuable lesson we have learned was that things don’t always go exactly as planned and it’s fine! We’ll get through it together.
Honeymoon?
We were fortunate enough to spend three weeks of stunning Greece along with Italy. It was an amazing experience! (Mainly designed by Mo who was a wonderful lift off my to-do list).
